What is the aim of the grant?
The grant is an initiative of the Paedagogium platform, aimed at providing financial support for innovation in teaching. Its goal is not only to improve the quality of instruction but also to support the development of teaching staff’s pedagogical competencies and to strengthen the importance of educational activities at Charles University. This initiative is also significant because it promotes collaboration and the sharing of good practices among the faculty, which can lead to broader and more effective use of innovative approaches across the entire university.
The grant focuses primarily on:
- supporting active learning and student engagement in teaching,
- developing feedback literacy and high-quality reflection,
- fostering cooperation and sharing among the faculty,
- developing pedagogical competencies in line with the Framework for Effective Teaching at Charles University,
- building a long-term sustainable culture of innovation and teaching quality.
Who can apply for the grant?
The application is submitted by the project head, who is responsible for both the professional and administrative coordination of the project team. Eligible applicants and team members include study program guarantors, course guarantors, and other teachers whose courses will implement the innovation. The grant is also open to instructors teaching in English, and applications may likewise be submitted in English. The size of the project team is not fixed—a smaller team, such as two instructors, may also carry out the project, provided that all stated objectives are met.
What si the maximum amount of financial support?
The amount of support per project ranges from CZK 70,000 to 150,000. The total allocation for all projects is CZK 1 200,000.
When to apply and how is the approval process carried out?
- Applications for projects must be submitted by December 31, 2025.
- The evaluation of project proposals will take place in January 2026.
- The publication of results will take place in February 2026.
- Project realisation will take place from March to December 2026.
